My work is about escaping and vanishing. I illustrate these ideas through exploring the relationship of birds and cages. The birds are outlines, shadows or silhouettes without features that may identify them to the earthbound viewer. I use monoprint techniques with an emphasis on layering the backgrounds with dyes and modified inks.
